This year’s “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” was like no other. Nelda Strong, the Chair for 2013 Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Aliceson Howell and several committees worked effortlessly and diligently for the great success that manifested in the number of agencies, volunteers and participants who trouped out for the event.
For example, participants came from all over the East Texas region. Tyler, Marshall, Sabine, Kilgore, Gladewater and Longview were well represented at the Walk. Furthermore, the Alzheimer’s Association from Dallas was present.
“Today was perfect,” Strong said. “The weather, the turnout, the promise garden, the speakers, and we have reached across cultures, we are making headway in every direction.”
In addition, she was happy to see the number of caregivers who attended the event because, “It is such a lonely disease.”
